Project Torque is a fast-growing automotive lifestyle brand headquartered in Conroe, TX. We specialize in custom merchandise, in-store experiences, and high-energy vendor booths at automotive events across the country. As our operations expand, we’re seeking a detail-driven and adaptable individual to join our team. This role is responsible for day-to-day store operations, customer service, inventory management, and event support—including occasional travel to shows nationwide.

Position Overview

As a Part-Time Sales & Operations Associate, you will support both operational and customer-facing activities across our retail and event environments. This position requires a balance of digital proficiency, organizational skills, and a customer-first mindset.

Core Responsibilities

Customer Support & Order Fulfillment

  • Respond to customer emails professionally and efficiently, providing accurate information and timely resolutions.
  • Pick, pack, and ship online orders with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain tracking updates, process order adjustments, and handle claims with shipping carriers.
  • Log all customer interactions and issue resolutions for reference and accountability.

Inventory Management & Event Preparation

  • Receive incoming inventory, update stock levels in our systems, and maintain organized backroom storage.
  • Prepare event documentation such as packing lists and inventory counts.
  • Pack, label, and log inventory for off-site events using digital systems for tracking.

In-Store Sales & Merchandising

  • Assist walk-in customers with product selection and complete point-of-sale transactions.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, merchandise presentation, and pricing consistency.
  • Reconcile daily cash drawer and report discrepancies promptly.

Event Support & Vendor Booth Operations

  • Travel to automotive events and trade shows to represent Project Torque.
  • Operate POS systems on-site, handle cash/card transactions, and interact with attendees enthusiastically.
  • Support booth setup, sales tracking, and customer service during long event days.
  • Overtime may be required during show weekends or special campaigns (additional pay applies).

Hours & Availability

  • Standard Hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 AM – 7 PM.
  • Saturdays Required: All candidates must be available to work Saturdays.
  • Days Off: Sundays are off; one additional weekday off is provided.
  • Show Coverage: Must be able to travel when needed. All travel expenses (airfare, lodging, per diem) are covered.
  • Extended Hours: Occasional in-store events or pop-ups may require working beyond 7 PM. Overtime is paid for hours exceeding 40/week.

Qualifications & Requirements

Location & Transportation

  • Must reside within commuting distance of Conroe, TX.
  • Reliable transportation is required for daily work and local errands.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in retail, warehouse, or customer service environments.
  • Prior exposure to event-based work or retail is a plus.
  • Competence with computers and digital platforms (Shopify preferred).

Skills & Attributes

  • Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal skills required for interacting with customers, resolving issues, and collaborating with teammates.
  • Bilingual Proficiency (Preferred): Fluency in English is required. Spanish proficiency is a strong asset but not mandatory.
  • Detail-Oriented Execution: Ability to manage data accurately across inventory counts, SKUs, pricing, and fulfillment logs.
  • Team Collaboration: Thrives in small team settings where flexibility and mutual support are essential. Willingness to help across departments is expected.
  • Digital Competency: Proficient with Shopify (or similar platforms), spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), and basic digital tools used for operations.
  • Time & Task Management: Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimal oversight.
  • Operational Agility: Comfortable switching between digital, retail, and physical tasks depending on business priorities.
