About Project Torque

Project Torque is an energetic automotive lifestyle brand based in Conroe, TX. We offer in-store experiences and vendor booths at automotive shows nationwide. We’re expanding and looking for a dynamic individual who is comfortable adapting to new challenges. Responsibilities include customer service, order fulfillment, inventory management, and event support. This role covers day-to-day operations and occasional travel to represent Project Torque at shows anywhere in the country.

Position Overview

As a Part-Time Sales & Operations Associate, you will support both operational and customer-facing activities across our retail and event environments. This position requires a balance of digital proficiency, organizational skills, and a customer-first mindset.

Customer Support & Order Fulfillment

  • Respond to customer emails in a friendly, solution-oriented manner. Provide timely resolutions and support customers from initial inquiry through order fulfillment.
  • Pick, pack, and ship orders accurately.
  • Update tracking information and follow up on any delivery issues.
  • File claims when necessary and maintain logs of customer interactions.

Inventory Management & Preparation for Events

  • Receive new merchandise, update stock levels, and organize back-room inventory.
  • Prepare inventory documentation (counts, packing lists) for upcoming shows.
  • Pack and organize inventory that will be taken to vendor booths—labeling and computerized logging.

In-Store Sales & Front-Line Service

  • Greet walk-in customers, assist with product selections, and process point-of-sale transactions.
  • Keep the storefront neat and welcoming (shelving, price tags, simple tidying).
  • Maintain daily cash drawer reconciliation.

Vendor Booth Sales & Show Support

  • Ability to travel and attend automotive shows (anywhere in the U.S.) when Project Torque is attending.
  • Operate POS systems on-site, handle cash transactions, and interact with attendees enthusiastically.
  • Support booth setup, sales, and customer service during event days.
  • Overtime opportunities are encouraged when business demands (additional pay applies).

Hours & Availability

Operation Hours: Employees work 10 AM – 7 PM, Monday–Saturday, with one weekday off (Monday–Friday) coordinated internally. Saturday availability is mandatory.

Saturday Availability is required. Canidates that cannot work Saturdays should not apply.

Show Coverage: Must be willing and able to travel when we’re invited to events. You’ll coordinate with the team in advance but expect to attend at least 3–4 shows per year.

Overtime Opportunities: When we host in-store events or pop-ups, hours can extend beyond 7 PM—overtime pay will apply for any hours above 40/week.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Location & Transportation: Live within commuting distance of Conroe, TX, and have reliable transportation.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year in retail, warehouse, or customer service. Customer Service experience is a plus but not required.
  • Comfortable using a computer for tasks such as spreadsheet management, organizing inventory, and navigating e-commerce platforms.

Skills & Attributes

  • Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills required for handling customer support emails, order issue resolution, and in-person interactions with customers and team members.
  • Bilingual Proficiency (Preferred): Full professional proficiency in English. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred, especially for interfacing with diverse customer bases at events and in-store.
  • Detail-Oriented Execution: Capable of maintaining accuracy in tasks such as inventory reconciliation, SKU tracking, pricing verification, and packing documentation. A meticulous approach to data entry and inventory management is critical.
  • Collaborative Team Dynamics: Functions effectively within a cross-functional team, supporting fulfillment, customer service, and event logistics. Willingness to assist beyond primary duties to support organizational objectives.
  • Digital Competency: Comfortable using e-commerce platforms (Shopify preferred), inventory systems, and spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel) to manage operational tasks and maintain data accuracy.
  • Organizational & Time Management: Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage concurrent responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and accountable.
  • Operational Flexibility: Able to adapt quickly between in-store tasks, backend logistics, and vendor booth setup/sales depending on operational demand.
